Starting now, Texas Children’s Hospital Orthopedics and Sports Medicine will be working with Birons, serving as our athletic trainers. They can evaluate athletes who suffer injuries, advise parents on various healthcare topics and treatment options, and provide ongoing care as injured athletes return to competition. They will also provide all first-aid at our meets and events.
In striving to better serve each unique child (and their whole family), we worked with West Campus to get their outstanding staff into our facility through their community partner program. As a community partner, Birons now has the benefit of being able to trust the medical experts at West Campus with the preventative, immediate, and on-going care of our athletes. They bring a level of professionalism, expertise, and resources that we obviously could never provide on our own.
You will see the partnership in many ways: the new athletic training room on site; the community board will maintain to serve as an on-demand resource for parents; the care they will provide our athletes during certain classes, meets and events; the resource seminars and informational nights they will host at Birons; the 24/7 on call; and so many more benefits we really can’t list here without making this a wall of text.
Our partnership with West Campus will keep parents better informed, help prevent injuries from occurring in the first place. We welcome your feedback on this partnership, and couldn’t emphasize enough the importance of meeting the athletic trainers on site, attending the info nights, and really utilizing this program as much as possible. Thank you once again for allowing us to be a part of your children’s lives!
